I sketched out my own version of Frankenstein’s Monster from the description in the book. Shelley described Frankenstein’s monster as an 8-foot-tall with translucent yellowish skin pulled so taut over the body that it “barely disguised the workings of the arteries and muscles underneath”. He is "beautiful" yet repulsive with his "yellow skin,""lustrous black, and flowing" hair, and teeth of "pearly whiteness." The monster's eyes are considered the windows upon the soul, as "watery eyes, that seemed almost the same color as the dun-white sockets in which they were set, his shriveled complexion and straight black lips."
I then prepared the book by sanding the edges and then started to paint. After the painting was all finished, all I needed to do was to gild the edge of the book. The gilding is the most important as it creates the vanishing effect.
